CASS-IQ is a turnkey cell production system that brings together Cellerate's CASS and E-PREP platforms in a single, integrated workflow. From coated electrode sheets through to finished, quality-controlled cells. Everything runs in sequence, with full data capture at every step.

Designed for workflows above 100 cells per day, the CASS-IQ is configured to each customer's requirements. The hardware, level of automation, and software integration are all specified around your throughput targets, cell formats, and lab environment.

How CASS-IQ Works

Component Cutting

Prepare consistent electrode and separator samples for coin cells or pouch cells, using precision cutting dies to minimise edge damage, reduce dimensional variability, and improve downstream cell consistency.

Electrode Characterisation

Turn every electrode sample into a richer data point, with automated measurements of mass, thickness, composite resistivity, and coating–foil interface resistance to reveal coating quality, consistency, and hidden sources of cell variability.

Lithium Polishing System

Automated lithium polishing improves lithium surface consistency for more repeatable lithium metal cells and half-cells.

Cell Stacking

Patented HD machine vision aligns delicate electrodes with high precision, then automatically checks every assembly step against quality metrics – giving you confidence in every cell, backed by a complete visual build record.

Electrolyte Filling

Programmable electrolyte filling lets you dose multiple formulations in a single workflow, controlling how electrolyte is distributed through each cell for more consistent wetting, cleaner comparisons, and greater confidence in your data.

Cell Sealing

Reliable automated sealing gives every coin cell, Protocell, or pouch cell a consistent finish, helping prevent electrolyte leakage during testing while recording critical parameters such as crimping force, vacuum pressure, and seal temperature for a complete quality record.

CASS

A fully modular automated bench-top machine that allows you to build coin cells, single-layer pouch cells, and Protocells quickly and precisely. Designed for ease of scalability, you can implement the individual modules to run small-scale lab research or combine them for fully automated batch production operations.

E-PREP

The E-PREP integrates precision electrode cutting, characterisation, and data capture into a single structured workflow. By reducing manual handling and upstream variability, laboratories improve consistency before cells are even assembled. E-PREP supports high-throughput material screening and quality control environments.

Software Control System

The CASS-IQ is controlled from a single external workstation, connected via wired Ethernet to all modules in the system. From one screen, operators can manage the full production process, monitor performance in real time, and review data for every batch.
